Overview of eShram 2.0 Portal
On August 26 2021 the Ministry of Labour & Employment launched the eShram portal (eshram.Gov.in) to create a complete National Database of Unorganised Workers through Aadhaar verification and seeding. However, the eSharam system will also enable job aggregators to register their employees. Moreover on the platform registered employees will be able to view their eligibility for several welfare programs. By giving them a Universal Account Number (UAN) the eShram platform aims to register and assist unorganized workers.
