The primary goal behind the implementation of the Bangla Awas Yojana is to provide accommodation to those who lost their homes in flood-affected areas. Thus this program aims to raise everyone’s social standing and quality of life for those who do not own a fixed residence. However, the candidates will get 1.2 lakhs in three installments through the direct benefit transfer method for the construction of their homes if they qualify under this scheme. Moreover by offering permanent shelter the Government of India hopes to drastically reduce the number of homeless people in the country.

• Five percent of the overall budget will be set aside at the central level as a reserve fund for unique projects.
• The authorized committee will approve the annual allocation to the state based on the yearly strategy.
• The state will receive the money in two equal payments.
• The beneficiary’s bank account will be immediately credited with financial aid.
• The construction of toilets under the Banglar Awas Yojana List will benefit from collaboration with SBMG MANREGAS or any other designated financial source.
• Under several government programs beneficiaries will also receive funding for pipe drinking water electricity and LPG gas connections.
•  The central and state governments will split the cost of unit aid 60:40 for plain areas and 90:10 for Northeastern and Himalayan states.
• 90% of the cash under the system will be supplied by the federal government to the state government with 4% going towards administrative costs.
