About Atmanirbhar Assam Scheme 2025
The Assam government led by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched the Mukhyamantrir Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan to assist unemployed youngsters by providing them with financial assistance to launch their enterprises. However, through this program, the government aims at building a more self-reliant and prosperous Assam by offering self-employment possibilities to youth and the pursuit of cooperation from different stakeholders. Moreover, eligible recipients selected under this initiative will be given one lakh in 2023–24 as a subsidy and another one lakh in a time frame of 5 years as an interest-free loan.

Objectives of the Atmanirbhar Assam Scheme
The objectives of the Atmanirbhar Assam Scheme are:
- -To give all categories of educated youth access to self-employment through an appropriate means.
- -To establish a business-focused environment in the state of Assam.

Atmanirbhar Assam List Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate needs to be a permanent citizen of Assam.
- The applicant’s bank account needs to be opened before December 31 2023 at the latest.
- The candidate should be within the age range of 28-40 years (the upper age limit is increased to 43 for SC ST and OBC categories).
- The candidate should have at least a Class X Pass for all the categories.
- The applicant shouldn’t have a history of non-payment on any loans from nationalized and cooperative banks.
- This program allows benefits to be received by no more than one family member.
- The applicant needs to be currently registered in the Employment Exchange.
- To participate in businesses that generate revenue applicants must have the appropriate expertise and abilities such as those gained through ITI or diploma programs.
Number of Beneficiaries
Himanta Biswa Sarma the chief minister of Assam declared that 25238 people would be selected from the cabinet as part of the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Assam Abhijan (CMAAA) program. However, this decision is an important move towards providing financial aid to young people without jobs so they can start their own companies and encourage self-employment throughout the state.

Financial Benefits
Every chosen recipient of the Atmanirbhar Assam Scheme will get a total of Rs. 2 lakh. This comprises a subsidy of Rs. 1 lakh for the first year and an interest-free loan of Rs. 1 lakh that needs to be paid back over five years.
